Argentine tango
A sad
thought that it danced (Santos Discépolo)
Before being a dance, the Argentine Tango is an attitude, that of
guapo and of compadrito of the quarter of Rio de la Plata at the
beginning of the twentieth Century. Even if one talks about the
technique, dancing Argentine Tango involves the understanding of
the history of Tango, the porteños
culture in which it is developed, the different styles, the rituals,
the context of the ballroom, and that of the theater. It is about
the understanding of the spirit of dance.
Danse in pair
The dance
expresses the universal feeling of sharing
The practice of Argentine tango and dances in couples allows one
to develop one's listening, comprehension, adaptation, perseverance,
and evolution abilities.
It provides a well being that facilitates personal and relational
harmony.
Even if one is always looking for oneself, valuing the other, exchanging,
putting oneself at the service of the couple favors personal expression.
In the movement that they build together, dancer and dancer find
an extension to their bodily expression.
To look for the perfection of this movement supposes a desire of
sharing, of communion, the desire to
grow together.
